Inspiring Gospel Legacy

Since 1971, the Afro-American Gospel Choir has been sharing the joys of gospel music with students and our community in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We bring folks together through song, dance, worship nights, and hands-on workshops that lift the spirit and build bonds. Our focus is creating a warm space where everyone can connect, grow in faith, and develop their musical gifts. Join us and experience the power of faith, friendship, and serving others through music. Uniting Hearts and Voices

Our Gospel Outreach Events bring folks together in faith and joy. These special moments share hope, unity, and love—inviting everyone to join in celebrating together. At each event, we grow spiritually and build our community through music and real connections. People find a place to learn, lead, and form lasting friendships, all while sharing a common purpose and passion. We're excited to welcome you to feel the life-changing spirit of our gospel music ministry and be part of a warm, faithful community.

Humble Yet Powerful Origins

It all started back in 1971 with a dozen passionate students gathering at the University of Alabama, brought together by their faith and a shared love for gospel music. From those early days, the Afro-American Gospel Choir found its place and grew into a close-knit family, known for its powerful performances. In 2008, we were joined by His Instruments of Praise, our dedicated praise dance team. Together, we’ve left a mark not just on campus but in many hearts, carrying forward a journey that’s as alive today as ever.
